One of the best aspects of this apartment is the great floorplan. It's difficult to really show the flow of the space in photos. The main living areas are an "L"-shaped living room/dining room that wrap around the open galley kitchen. We spent some time choosing good colors to keep it feeling warm in the dim winters.

These rooms have refinished oak floors, an immense (immense) front window, a snappy 5-paned glass front door, a full-light glass door to the river-view balcony, a sleek matte steel ceiling fan with a remote control for the dimmer and fan speed. There's a proper coat closet between the kitchen and living room.

Throughout the apartment we've put up new custom blinds (black, to coordinate with the trim, of course). And for the option to let in a little light while still preserving your privacy, the blinds on the front window have a top-down/bottom up feature.
