Groceries: There is a Safeway at Main St./37th (less than a mile north). Also look for the Main Street Bakery.

Farmers Markets: Vancouver Farmers Market at 8th/W Columbia.

Parks: Arnada Park is 2 blocks north on F. It's pretty and has a small pavilion and playground.

Ester Short Park at W Columbia/8th downtown is home to a weekly farmer's market, concerts and much more.

Restaurants: On Main Street, there is Vancouver Pizza and Ice Cream Rennaissance. Dulan's makes a great BLT. There is Peking Garden, and Casa Grande's been a fixture for over 20 yrs. On Broadway you'll find Arnada Cafe & Pub (live music), Casablanca, and at Washington/15th there is Muchas Gracias taco stand.

Coffee: Twisted Shot is on McLoughlin, and Starbucks and Mojo's are on Main Street.

Movies: City Center Cinema has first run movies on C St 14 block south. You'll need to drive out east, but don't miss Cinetopia with first run movies in "living rooms" with a tapas restaurant and wine bar. For cult classics and scifi rentals, head to Mind Candy on Main.

Shopping: There are a lot of shops just blocks away in Uptown Village.
